Day 1 Arrival to Nice
Transfer to Saint Juan-les-Pins. Welcome drink in the hotel and time to enjoy the beaches, shops or one of the sympathetic bars of Juan-les-Pins before the first dinner.
Day 2 Juan les Pins - Cap d'Antibes - Biot - Saint Juan 38 km
Adjustment of hired bikes. Detour Cap d'Antibes to enjoy the beautiful rocky coastline and rank vegetation. Halt in Antibes for Sunday market. Picnic on the beach behind Antibes before starting the excursion to the romantic village Biot. A little hilly part, but with a nice village as destination. Way back to Antibes and Juan-les-Pins.
Day 3 Cannes - Ste Maxime 67 km
After the city of Cannes, well known for its famous annual film festival, you will cross many small seaside resorts: La Napoule, Théoule, Miramar and Le Trayas. Continue cycling along the cliff lined coast road and you will reach Dragon via Anthéor. You will also cross on your route the cities of St. Raphael and Fréjus. Passing by the popular seaside resorts of St. Aygulf and Les Issambres you reach the harmonious Ste.-Maxime, with its fishermen's heaven and sandy beach.
Day 4 St Tropez - Cavalaire 51 km
In the past St. Tropez was a humble fishing village and in the sixties it became suddenly popular for all the high society and the jetset. Just after St Tropez it is time for a wine tasting in a lovely winegrower farm with the picnic just following. Then passing numerous posh villas, the road leads to Colleverde Basse (only 129 m) with a magnificent view and Croix-Valmer, a pretty seaside resort surrounded by vineyards, you finally reach Cavalaire, which is located at a broad sandy beach. Time to swim and transfer back to Juan les Pins.
Day 5 Lac de St Croix - Lorgues 53 km
This magnificent turquoise lake was formed by the Barrage (dam) de Ste Croix, built on the Verdon river in 1975. Lorgues is a small fortified Provencal town, and much of the ancient wall, defensive 'portes' and other old buildings remain beautifully intact. The old narrow streets have vaulted passages, ancient stairs, and many buildings and doorways contain lovely stone carvings. This is a cycling day with a lot of panoramic views, incredible landmark and romantic villages.
Day 6 Juan-les-Pins - Cannes - Iles St Honorat 28 km
Following the sandy beach you will soon reach the port of Golfe-Juan, where Napoleon landed when he returned from Elba in 1815. After cycling a short distance you arrive to the magnificent coastal road Croisette which brings you to the centre of Cannes. From here, transfer with the boat to the Lerins Islands, the Ile Saint Honorat, which is a private Island from the Monastery of Cystercian. Visit of the island without bikes, visit of the vineyard, the monastery of the 12th of century and picnic. Transfer back with the boat in the afternoon and time to visit Cannes before we return to Juan les Pins by bike.
Day 7 Tourettes sur Loup - Grasse 38 km
Tourettes-sur-Loup, where, a century ago, violets chosed to grow. Still today the cultivation of this delicate flower constitutes one of the main activities and the extent of production gave the village its title 'City of Violets'. Settled on a rocky buttress, overhanging precipices, this medieval village, whose climate is ideal in all seasons, has reached us intact to this day. Close to the town, the Gorges du Loup is one of the curiosities of the Côte d'Azur. Cycling tour along the Valley and up to the romantic village Gourdon. Picnic with a fantastic view. Cycling after the visit of Gourdon and it numerous small streets to Grasse. Visit and tasting in one of the numerous Perfumery. Transfer back to Juan les Pins.
