Nach einem Halt beim Menhir Pierre Pointue und Ausflug in die Zeit der Megalithen setzen wir unsere Radtour fort. Seine Festung ist die einzige Bastionsfestung, die im Zentrum Frankreichs erbaut wurde. Sie liegt auf einem isolierten Kalksteinh\u00fcgel am Zusammenfluss zweier Fl\u00fcsse. Die erste Festungsanlage mit einem gro\u00dfen runden Bergfried stammt aus dem fr\u00fchen 13. Jahrhundert. Die Sammlungen von M\u00f6beln, Skulpturen, Gem\u00e4lden und wertvollen Objekten im Ch\u00e2teau de Valen\u00e7ay verleihen ihm den Charakter einer noch immer bewohnten Residenz. Als Zeugen der Regimewechsel, die Frankreich zu Lebzeiten des Prinzen regierten, harmonieren die verschiedenen Stile und tragen zum Charme des Ortes bei. Apremont-sur-Allier, ein bezauberndes mittelalterliches Dorf, das in der Zwischenkriegszeit vom Eisenh\u00fcttenbesitzer Eug\u00e8ne Schneider aus Le Creusot aufgewertet wurde. Eine wundersch\u00f6ne Arbeit: Kein Ziegel, kein Fachwerk, kein T\u00fcrmchen und keine Stockrose, die nicht zur Harmonie des Ganzen beitr\u00e4gt. Einige Kilometer flussabw\u00e4rts passieren wir die runde Schleuse von Lorrains und dann die Kanalbr\u00fccke von Gu\u00e9tin, die beide 1838 erbaut wurden. Letztere erm\u00f6glicht es dem Seitenkanal der Loire, 11 Meter \u00fcber dem Allier zu verlaufen. Unser Ziel ist Charit\u00e9-sur-Loire. Hier zeigt sich der Fluss, die Loire, in ihrer ganzen Pracht.
