Day by day

Day 1Arrival in Passau

Individual arrival to the Dreiraufflussstadt Passau. After checking in at the upscale hotel, you will receive your detailed travel documents. The rental bikes are available in the bike counter. Your hotel right in the old town offers you a first foretaste of the comfort of the coming days.

Day 2 Passau – Schlögener Schlinge 40 km

You start comfortably on the banks of the Danube and cycle through the Upper Danube Valley – an idyllic landscape with wooded slopes and historic castles. In Engelhartszell, Engelszell Abbey invites you to take a break with liqueur tasting. Your destination is the spectacular Schlögener Schlinge, where the Danube winds through the narrow valley in unique arcs.

Day 3 Through the Eferding Basin to Linz 55 km

You cycle leisurely past orchards and wide fields to the cultural city of Linz. Here, the historic old town, modern architecture and Danube flair are impressively combined.

Day 4 City life in Linz – Strudengau 60 km

After an enjoyable breakfast, you leave Linz and cycle along the Danube towards Grein. On the way you can expect quiet nature, charming places and the historic Enns. When you arrive in Grein, you will experience baroque joy of life and eventful history.

Day 5 Grein – Wachau 70 km

The stage leads through the legendary Strudengau to Melk. The baroque Benedictine monastery is visible from afar and is considered one of the most impressive sacred buildings in Europe.

Day 6 Cycling through the Wachau 40 km

Today you cycle through the vineyards of the Wachau – a UNESCO World Heritage Site that uniquely combines culture and nature. Places like Dürnstein, Spitz and Weißenkirchen invite you to linger. Treat yourself to a break in one of the traditional wine bars.

Day 7 final phase to Vienna 70 km

The last stage of the bike tour leads downstream to the federal capital. If you prefer to take it easy, you can easily take the train from Tulln or Klosterneuburg. When you arrive in Vienna, you can expect a stylish end to your trip with culture, culinary delights and classic elegance.

Day 8 Departure or extension

After breakfast it is time to leave again or you would like to extend your stay.

Route characteristics:Easy to moderate There are some inclines to overcome from Prague to Melnik, otherwise the route on the Elbe cycle path is mostly easy. Some paths are partly unpaved.
