Children and adults are warmly welcomed. Check-in. The travel documents are then issued.
The rest of the day is at your leisure. Possibilities: Let yourself be transported to another world where you and your children can experience a new way of traveling – with the dragon procession through the land of the dwarves against the magical backdrop of the historic and impressive city of Linz.
Day 2 Linz – Mitterkirchen 40 km
Today we visit a Celtic open-air museum. In a village that represents the Iron Age, you will be shown and introduced to the ways of life and lifestyles of the distant past. Accommodation for this night is in a cozy farmhouse in the Machland region. Dinner is served with exceptional hospitality and prepared with delicious Austrian specialties made in-house.
Day 3 Mitterkirchen – Strudengau 40 km
On the way to Strudengau there are old markets and castles embedded in wooded hills. At the Grein Maritime Museum you will find impressive models of old shipbuilding and early naval architecture, and a paradise for recreation and pleasure awaits you in Ardagger. A leisure pool and sand beach volleyball courts are just the beginning of endless possibilities for fun and action. Have fun!
Day 4 Strudengau – Wachau 50 km
Shortly after Pöchlarn you reach the world-famous Wachau, one of the most beautiful river landscapes in Europe. The impressive and breathtaking Benedictine Melk Abbey towers over the city and can be seen from afar. Through the seemingly endless vineyards you cycle to the wine village of Spitz, which was built around the so-called „1000 bucket hill”.
Day 5 Wachau (rest day)
You can enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Wachau and explore the castle of Dürnstein or Aggstein, visit the museum of shipbuilding in Spitz or swim in the beautiful Danube.
Day 6 Wachau – Stockerau 50 km + train ride Krems-Tulln
Start the day with a bike ride through a spectacular landscape with steep rock faces, sun-drenched vineyard terraces, beautifully blooming orchards, picturesque villages, dignified monasteries and authentic castles and enjoy the magnificent views until you reach Stockerau.
Day 7 Stockerau – Vienna 25 km
The goal in mind you cycle comfortably towards Vienna. You will have a fantastic view of the skyline, far away from the fast-paced city and all the traffic. Vienna is a city that loves its music and food. Kids will have a great time enjoying traditional sweets and hot chocolate. At nearly every corner you’ll hear waltzes, impromptu violin concerts and various street performers. When the kids need a change of pace, head to the eastside of Vienna to ride the worlds’ oldest ferris wheel and run around the fun filled all-year-round amusement park “Prater”.
Day 8 Departure or extension
Before you leave Vienna, you should definitely visit the famous Naschmarkt (international food/goods) and take a detour to the beautiful Schönbrunn Imperial Palace or even the zoo. The return journey to Linz is by train (with your own bike for an additional charge), or of course you can extend your stay in the City of Music.
