Description

Reims and Epernay are the most important places of the Champagne region. Both will be on the program. The weekend begins with Reims and its wonderful cathedral. The cycle tour continues through small and peacefully streets between the vineyards of the Champagne region.

Day by day

Day 1 Reims

On your arrival in Reims, you might have time to visit the beautiful city of Reims. Take the time to walk to the wonderful Cathedral of Reims. It’s a unique masterpiece of the gothic style and classified as a UNESCO site. Even though the cathedrale suffered from the 2 world wars, you will enjoy the great work of renovation. In Reims, you can also visit some houses of champagne and finish with a Champagne tasting.

Day 2 Reims – Epernay  42 km

You start your cycling day along canal Aisne – Marne and leave the city of Reims on the quiet towpath along the canal with the bikes. Hilly part of the Champagne vineyards. In Chigny les Roses a stop is necessary, here 41 wine cellars exist. You can stop on the way for your first experience with the Champagne IN the Champagne! The tour ends
in Epernay, time to discover the Avenue of Champagne.

After the breakfast, It is now time to say goodbye – au revoir !

By plane : PARIS ROISSY CHARLES DE GAULLE airport. Reims is situated 30 minutes*  from PARIS CHARLES DE GAULLE airport.
*by TGV: direct lines from CDG airport – to Champagne-Ardenne TGV station. The closest airports (apart from CDG and ORLY) are PARIS-VATRY airport (direct flights from Portugal and Morocco) and REIMS EN CHAMPAGNE airportBy Train / TGV: Direct TGV connection from Paris Gare de l’Est to Reims Ville. Reims is located at the junction of the Lille – Dijon – Mediterranean and Paris – Charleville – Sedan lines. There are 2 train stations connected to Reims: « Gare Reims-Centre », located in the heart of the city, and « Champagne-Ardenne TGV », in Bezannes, which is connected to Reims by the tramway.By car: Reims is located at the crossroads of the A4-E50 (Paris – Strasbourg) and A26-E17 (Calais – Troyes – Dijon) motorways.
