Characteristics of this journey/holiday

Day by day

Day 1 Montmartre district and surrounding area, approximately 17 km

Arrive in Paris before noon, either by plane, train, or car. Meet France à Vélo at the train station. Check into your hotel in the heart of Montmartre. In the afternoon, you can set off on your first bike tour around the Montmartre district.

Day 2 Marais district and Ile de la Cité approx. 31 km

The Marais, once a marshland, is now one of the most beautiful districts in Paris. Around every corner, new architectural curiosities, picturesque street scenes, and a charm that is entirely typical of the area await you and immediately captivate you. A neighborhood full of atmosphere and diversity, which is perfect to explore by bike. Here you will find what is perhaps the most beautiful square in Paris, the Place des Vosges, created by Henri IV. An unknown architect is responsible for the dominant Renaissance style with its symmetry. The square has hosted tournaments, royal receptions, weddings, and duels. The Marais is also the center of Jewish life in Paris. Continue in the afternoon to the Île de la Cité. Tour along the banks of the Seine and visit the Sainte Chapelle and its famous stained glass windows.

Day 3  Fontainebleau  40 km

A royal day. Off to Fontainebleau! Transfer out of Paris to one of the most beautiful castles of the royal families: Fontainebleau. Surrounded by a fantastic forest, much loved in the days of royal hunts, it is a dream destination for cycling. Guided tour of the Château de Fontainebleau. A royal bike tour calls for a royal conclusion! During dinner, what a treat: in a restaurant with incredible charm, the staff regularly transform themselves into opera singers. A fantastic atmosphere, wonderful cuisine, and an unforgettable evening.

Day 4  Eiffel Tower district, Champs Elyssée, Latin Quarter 34 km

Another magnificent day in the streets of Paris. On the agenda: the Luxembourg Gardens, the Champs de Mars with a visit to Les Invalides and Napoleon’s tomb. From the Place du Trésor, we enjoy a magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower. We then continue along the Champs-Élysées to Place Vendôme, the chic district of Paris. In the afternoon, we will walk along the romantic Canal St Martin and stop at the famous Père Lachaise Cemetery, with some famous graves and interesting anecdotes.
